Yes, our personal training clients are billed bi-weekly for sessions completed during that period.

What are your policies and procedures around your services, costs, cancellations, etc.?

We require 24 hours notice to cancel sessions at no charge. Sessions not cancelled or re-scheduled 24 hours in advance will be charged at the full rate.

How long does the initial assessment take? What should I bring?

The assessment takes under one hour. Please come dressed in your workout gear and bring a water bottle.

Why do I need to get tested?

Testing allows you to track the results of your training program. If you are not getting the results you want, your program can be altered right away. It also quantifies your fitness level allowing you to see progress as you workout.

I’m not in good shape – should I be working out prior to getting tested?

No, you don’t need to be in good shape to do the fitness test. The test is designed to assess your individual fitness level. The results are private and you won’t be compared anyone else, only to yourself on successive tests.

I am not interested in bulking up. Do I still need to do the strength test?

The strength test is for everyone: it not only determines strength levels, but detects muscular imbalances as well. For example, if you are stronger at pushing than pulling this can lead to a postural imbalances. Early detection will allow us to design your program to prevent postural imbalance.

What and when should I eat before my session?

Eat a light meal about two hours before you work out. Your body prefers to use carbohydrates as fuel, so your pre-workout meal should include plenty of carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, fruits and vegetables. You don’t need to avoid protein and fat, however don’t overdo either of these nutrients if you will be exercising within an hour or two. If you end up eating a large protein, fibre and fat-filled meal, wait about four hours before exercising.

If you feel hungry right before your workout, pick a small snack like piece of fruit, a sports beverage or some fruit juice.
Hydration is important for your health and exercise will cause a depletion of water when you sweat. Drink a glass of water an hour or so before your workout and again after your workout. You can also sip water throughout your workout.

I tried one trainer but we have different styles—is it okay to switch to someone else?

Absolutely. It is important that you feel comfortable with your personal trainer so that you get the most out of your sessions together. If you would like to try another trainer, email us at info@precisionathletics.ca so we can find the right fit for you.
